Finland is specialized also in researching difficulties in learning. Different universities have programs to educate special education teachers who are experts on learning difficulties.

The University of Jyväskylä has also their own program for special education teachers.

With Comenius group we also visited an institute specialized in learning difficulties Niilo Mäki Instituutti. They have done great job in researching learning difficulties and developing learning games to improve pupils skills. The best known game is definitely Ekapeli, a game for learning to read. The institute has a lot of information and knowledge about learning difficulties in both languages and math and they provide materials for teachers as well (Lukimat).
